Terms of Service

Last updated October 9, 2026 · version 2026-10. Draft prepared for review by counsel; the version in force is the one published on this page.

1. Who we are

Alarm Mobile is a product of Alarm Mobile LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Alarm Mobile”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying a license, plan or accessory, setting up an Alarm Station, or otherwise using the Alarm Mobile apps and services (the “Service”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is — and is not

Alarm Mobile turns a smartphone or tablet you supply (the “Station”) into a self-monitored alarm system that sends alerts to the phones you pair (“Remotes”). We do not monitor your system, no one watches it on your behalf, and we do not contact police, fire or medical services. The Service is not a substitute for professionally monitored security, for a wired alarm system, or for insurance, and you must not rely on it as your only protection of life, health or property. You decide whether, when and whom to call in an emergency.

3. How detection works; the camera and microphone are sensors

While armed, the Station uses its camera to detect movement and its microphone to detect the sound of breaking glass and, in Away mode, loud noise. This analysis takes place on the Station itself: sound is converted to loudness and frequency measurements and discarded immediately; it is not recorded, stored or transmitted. When the Station is disarmed its microphone is off; when armed in Home mode you may choose “Private” to keep it off. Audio and video leave the Station only (a) as a short clip with audio captured automatically after an alarm trigger, which is uploaded to our servers, and (b) during Live View or Two-Way Talk sessions that you start from a Remote, which are streamed between your own devices and not stored by us. Alarm Mobile does not listen to, watch, review or analyse your audio or video. Our staff access stored event media only when you ask us for support, and never otherwise.

4. Your responsibilities: lawful use, notice and consent

Laws on video and audio recording, on notifying or obtaining the consent of people who may be recorded, and on alarm permits vary by state and country, and some are strict. You are solely responsible for complying with them. You agree to use the Service only on premises you own or are authorised to monitor; to inform household members, guests, tenants, employees and visitors as required by the law that applies to you; not to point a Station at places where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy (bathrooms, bedrooms of other people, neighbouring property, public ways); not to use the Service to record conversations you are not a party to where that is unlawful; and to obtain any alarm permit your locality requires. You are responsible for everyone who uses your account, your Stations and your Remotes, and for keeping the Station's PIN private. You agree to indemnify and hold Alarm Mobile LLC and its members, officers and contractors harmless from any claim, fine or loss arising from your use of the Service in breach of this section or of applicable law.

5. Accounts, trials, licenses and plans

You sign in with an email address and a one-time code. Trials are limited to one per device and one per email address. The app is free to download. An Alarm Station license is a one-time purchase that unlocks one Station; it is tied to that Station's identity and may be transferred to a replacement device from your account up to three times a year. Cloud video storage plans renew automatically until cancelled and apply to one Station. Prices are shown before purchase; taxes may be added. Refunds are described in our refund policy. Deleting your account forfeits any licenses and plans on it.

6. Stored event video and data

Snapshots and clips captured after an alarm trigger are uploaded over an encrypted connection and stored on our servers in the United States for the retention period of your plan (24 hours without a storage plan; 30 days with one, and for the first 14 days after setup), then deleted. They are made available only to Remotes paired to the Station, through links that expire. You may download or delete any event at any time and may delete your whole account at alarmmobile.com/delete-account or in the app. You own your recordings; you grant us only the limited licence needed to store and deliver them to you. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure — see section 8.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to harass, stalk or surveil any person, to record anyone unlawfully, or in any way that infringes another person's rights. Do not attempt to circumvent licensing or trials, interfere with the Service, or access another user's Stations, Remotes or data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will detect every intrusion, that it will not raise false alarms, or that it will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free or secure. The Service depends on devices, batteries, chargers, mounts, Wi-Fi and cellular networks, power, push-notification services, app stores and other third parties we do not control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alarm Mobile LLC is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, death, theft, burglary, property damage, data loss, or privacy intrusion, nor for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from or related to the Service — including from a missed or delayed detection, a false alarm, a device, network, power or server failure, an error in the software, or unauthorised access to your devices, account, network or data resulting from a security breach or technological failure — even if we were advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US $100 if greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the apps, the Service and these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new version date, and continued use after that date is acceptance. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. Sections 4, 6, 8 and 10 survive termination.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Questions: contact@alarmmobile.com.
